  • Enter state of Ihram from Miqat (Dhul Hulayfah for pilgrims from Medina)

  • Combine Maghrib and Isha in Muzdalifah

Arkan al-Hajj (Pillars of Hajj)

These are the essential acts without which Hajj is invalid.

1. Ihram

The intention and entering the sacred state from the Miqat boundary. Includes wearing prescribed clothing and abstaining from prohibitions.

2. Wuqoof Arafat

Standing in Arafat from noon to sunset on the 9th. This is the most important pillar. Missing this invalidates Hajj.

3. Tawaf al-Ifadah

The major circumambulation of the Kaaba (7 rounds) performed after returning from Mina on the 10th or after.

4. Sa'i

Walking 7 times between the hills of Safa and Marwah, commemorating Hajar's search for water.

Talbiyah (The Call of Hajj)

"Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Indeed, all praise, grace, and dominion belong to You. You have no partner."

Recite frequently from Ihram until stoning Jamarat al-Aqabah on 10th.

Dua for Arafah Day

"None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs sovereignty and praise, and He is over all things Omnipotent."

The best dua is the dua of Arafah! Recite abundantly.

When Throwing Pebbles (Rami)

"Allah is the Greatest."

Say 'Allahu Akbar' with each pebble (7 times per Jamarah).

Dua for Acceptance

"O Allah, I ask You for an accepted Hajj, appreciated striving, and forgiven sins."
